On December 7th, 2016, Kweichow Moutai hosted a private banquet for 50 VIP guests from various industries in Los Angeles on the 70th floor of OUE Skyspace – The Moutai Sensorium.

As the name of the event suggests, the space was designed with element to allow guests to experience Moutai in all 5 senses: the cocktail reception area where the guests can experience the scent, touch, sight, and sound via fully interactive installations. These installations lead the guests on an experiential journey showing various elements such as the landscape of the Moutai town, the touch of the base grain (sorghum), and the signature bouquet of complex aroma baijiu that Moutai is famous for. Finally, the journey concluded with a formal dinner where guests had a holistic experience and “taste” the famed liquor with a food pairing menu carefully designed to fully reveal the unique and subtle characters of this iconic baijiu.

The event was the first time where all 5 senses of Moutai were clearly revealed. Above all, it demonstrated the undeniable beauty of the Chinese heritage and the amalgamation of the ancient and modern cultures.
